Everyone has an alligator story. I'll help you survive yours.

On August 3rd, 2022, an alligator took hold of me. Hillsborough County fire crews worked that call and transported me twice. A lot of people know that story. Fewer know what I'd been praying about right before it: that I wanted to understand what surrender actually looked like, willingly, instead of waiting to be broken into it.

I got my answer. That's the work now.

My alligator story has scales and teeth, so it gets attention. But every man has one. Every man has his own idea of what hard means.

I've written two books, The Warrior's Note: Everyone Has an Alligator Story and The Embodiment Problem. I'm a certified Christian life coach through the American Association of Christian Counselors and a chaplain commissioned through the Chaplain Corps of Tampa Bay. I also run a nonprofit, Nurturing Resilience, that does fatherhood work at no cost to the men in it.

"The BPC framework is a blueprint for building the kind of confidence that holds under real pressure. This book teaches you how to stand tall in your own story."

Fire departments and agencies

Your people know what a bad call costs. Most of what gets offered to them is a pamphlet and a phone number.

I've been on both ends of it: the crew making entry and the patient in the back of the truck. I can work with an individual, or with a small group inside a shift, on the physical and emotional side of staying in this job for a career.

If you're looking at something for your station or your department, call us and we'll talk about what it would actually look like.
