Where it stands

The discipleship work is already happening on a small scale, and it's ready to grow with support. Full program dates will be announced as funding comes in.

Nurturing Resilience, Inc.
The mission

Strong men who go home ready to give.

Nurturing Resilience, Inc. is the umbrella. The Fatherhood Initiative is one way in. From there, a man can walk into Nurturing Resilience, a free discipleship program that builds him up in body, mind and faith, so he goes home to his family and his church ready to give.

The Fatherhood Initiative

One way in, through our partner Oasis Pregnancy Center. A father who wants to grow finds a place to start.

The discipleship program

Twelve sessions over three months. It starts one-on-one, then grows into a small group that meets face to face in Tampa Bay. It's free.

Five phases
  1. 01

    Guidance

We learn how a man reads and learns, and meet him there.

  2. 02

    Intent

Why he wants to grow: for himself, for the people he serves, or because he's being called.

  3. 03

    Connection

The group forms. Who he is, at home and in his testimony.

  4. 04

    Application

Healing, structure and discipline he can keep for life.

  5. 05

    Leading

Built by the men who reach it.

Veterans and first responders can walk the program too, and over time lead support groups for their own people.

From a man JC discipled
"The way he spoke about his faith and Scripture carried both confidence and humility. It was real, grounded, and deeply rooted in his walk with God. Alongside other strong men of faith, he helped create an environment that drew me in and challenged me to take a deeper look at my own relationship with Christ. At that point in my journey, I knew I wasn't where I needed to be. I had been baptized, but I also knew I could do better in my walk. JC didn't just leave it at a conversation. He reached out. He stepped in as a mentor and brother, helping disciple me, breaking down Scripture, and guiding me through the Gospel in a way that built both understanding and confidence. What meant the most to me is that he showed up, not just when things were easy, but during some of my hardest moments. My walk hasn't been perfect, and I've struggled with shame and personal battles, but JC met me in those places with prayer, truth, and unwavering faith. I'll never forget one moment we shared in prayer during a storm, both literally and spiritually. In a time of fear and uncertainty, we prayed, and what felt overwhelming became still. That moment changed something in me. JC isn't just a mentor. He's a brother. Someone who walks alongside you, not ahead of you, pointing the way while reminding you that you're not alone."
